Attractions

Sopot is one of the most famous resorts on the Polish coast. Wonderful climate and many attractions have made the city the informal title of the summer Polish capital. Sopot is unique place because it combines the advantages of a big city with calm seaside resort.

Main Attractions in Sopot

Pier (Polish: Molo w Sopocie)

the pier in the city of Sopot, built as a pleasure pier and as a mooring point for cruise boats, first opened in 1827. At 511.5m, the pier is the longest wooden pier in Europe.

Monte Cassiono is main street

Monte Cassiono is main street in Sopot where we can find lots of clubs, pub and restaurant. Everyone can find there somthing to spend thier free time. In 1963 the main street of Sopot (Bohaterów Monte Cassino, "street of the heroes of Monte Cassino") was turned into a pedestrian-only promenade.

Krzywy Domek

The showpiece of Sopot and the symbol of the modern world that harmoniously combines business with culture and art. Each day plenty of people pay visits to us to conduct business, eat, enhance their health or do shopping. This place is the seat of offices of companies representing various industries, beauty salons, doctors' offices, shops and the like. In the evening the Krzywy Domek is vibrant with life, as well. Its clubs and pubs provide extensive programmes of events and their top quality and diverse catering will satisfy all tastes – both sophisticated and traditional ones. The Krzywy Domek – this place never sleeps!

Lighthouse

The navigation facility on the Polish Baltic coast, located in Sopot. Built in 1903-4 as a part of Balneological Institute. Since reducing the extent of the light to 7 nautical miles (13 km; 8 mi), according to existing criteria in that matter, it is no longer formally a lighthouse, but still is called so. Light Tower is open to visitors.

Opera Leśna

Main Theatre in Sopot (polish: Opera Leśna), (German: Die Waldoper) - Forest amphitheater area of ​​4 hectares, opened in July 1909 in Sopot. Forest Opera is on the Tricity Landscape Park in the forest complex of Forests Oliwa. It features a particularly good acoustics andexcellent location. The auditorium is located 4400 opera viewers, and the stage(length 50 meters and 536 sq ft) is able to accommodate more than 100 piece orchestra. The scenery of the Forest Opera is associated primarily held here yearlyfestival. Scene of the opera is also a place of numerous classical music concerts, concerts of blues, rock, fashion shows and more. Near the Forest Opera touristtrail runs Szymbarskie Hills.

Beach

  • Sopot beach- guarded in summer season; fans of sports will find here rental shops with aquatic sports equipment and many volleyball and beachball pitches. You can also find here playgrounds for kids and numerous cafes.
  • Gdansk Jelitkowo beach- for people, who are looking for a quiet relaxation.
  • Gdansk Brzezno beach- guarded in summer season; just as in Sopot, you can visit here a pier.  
  • Gdynia Orlowo beach- guarded in summer season.
  • Gdynia Redlowo beach- playground located nearby the beach, makes it a perfect place for the families with kids.
  • Gdynia Downtown (Polish name- Śródmieście) beach- the most popular beach in Gdynia- location in downtown makes it easy to reach from every part of Gdynia. You can also spend your time in one of many cafes located there.

Sport

Aquapark

Complex of various aquatic attractions such as: recreational swimming pools, whirpools, hydro massages, "wild river", slides, for kids swimming pool with slide and toys. In Aquapark you can also find the "World of Sauna" and bowling.

Bold Mountain

Polish name Lysa Gora, a perfect location for the ones who like to spend their free time activety – cycling, walking or nordic walking. It's a great place where you can find quietness and fresh air. In the winter mountain is occupied by the enthusiasts of winter sports.

Hippodrome

It is exellent recreational complex and place where you can spend your free time. If you are fun of horse riding and racing you must see this place.

Ergo Arena

Situated at the city limits od Sopot and Gdansk. It is one of the biggest sport and entertaiment halls in Poland. Many tournamates such as handball, volleyball, basketball, tenis, hockey. Ergo Arena is also adapted to organise performances, concerts, exhibitions, conferences and symposiums.
